Ontario Wine Week

Officially declared by the provincial government in June 2005, every third week in June has been proclaimed Ontario Wine Week. This act helps to solidify the recognition of wines produced in Ontario and further insures the continued success of the Ontario Wine Awards and surrounding events such as sip & Savour Ontario.

Since Ontario Wine Week's inception the Ontario wine industry has worked in unison to create exciting festivals, winemaker dinners, restaurant promotions and so much more all surrounding Ontario wines. In 2008, sip & Savour Ontario was born - a collaboration of the Ontario Wine Awards and Savour Ontario, A program of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA). Bringing VQA wine and Ontario food together, sip & Savour Ontario helps you recognize, distinguish and appreciate the amazing flavours grown and produced in here in Ontario. That being said, any event carrying the sip & Savour Ontario logo signifies homegrown excellence, VQA approval and valid participation in Ontario Wine Week celebrations.
